Dean Roasting Stick, 50, passed away due to natural causes on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Benefis Medical Center. Wake services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018, and will continue until his traditional funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Dean was born on January 2, 1968, in Havre to John and Georgiana (Gopher) Roasting Stick, Sr. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there until his sophomore year. He dropped out of school and attended Kicking Horse Job Corps, where he obtained his GED. After Job Corps, Dean returned home and worked at various labor jobs for several years, and seasonally he was a firefighter for the Tribe. Most recently, he worked at the Northern Winz and EZ Mart Casinos as an attendant. In the mid 90's, he met Loretta Snell, and the couple had two sons together.

Dean enjoyed fishing, hiking, and anything outdoors, beadwork, and providing for his family. He especially enjoyed watching the History Channel with his sons.

He was preceded in death by his father John Roasting Stick, Sr. and sister Debbie Simon.

Dean is survived by his wife Loretta Snell of Havre; sons Joshua Roasting Stick of Havre and Keyshawn Roasting Stick of Clearfield, UT; mother Georgiana Peggy Roasting Stick of Rocky Boy; sisters Rachel Roasting Stick of Alamagordo, NM, Jonann Roasting Stick of Havre, and Holly Roasting Stick of Rocky Boy; brothers John "Sonny" (Blossom) Roasting Stick, Jr., Samuel (Sheila) Roasting Stick, Thomas (Diane) Roasting Stick, and Richard "Smokey" Roasting Stick, all of Rocky Boy, with Smokey's wife Alberta of Arapahoe, WY; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
