Dawn Renee
Harsh
October 31, 1966 – February 1, 2025
Dawn R. Harsh, 58, passed away due to natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Carrie Linie officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery at a later date. Dawn's family has suggested memorial donations be made in her memory to the Havre Day Activity Center or the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Dawn was born on October 31, 1966, in Warroad, MN, to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Fors) Hanson. She was raised in northern Minnesota until her teens, when the family relocated to Havre. There she attended Havre High School, and soon after she was done with school, she started working for IGA. After her time at IGA, Dawn began working as a caregiver for the Havre Day Activity Center, a position she absolutely loved. She was forced to retire around 2015 when her health issues prevented her from working.
Dawn was a very social woman who loved to drive around and spend time with her friends. She absolutely adored her niece and nephews, becoming a second mother to them. She was vibrant and bubbly and loved 80's rock. Dawn was also kind and compassionate, and she was a lifetime lover of animals and a member of 5th Avenue Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Hanson and Elizabeth Matelski, and two brothers, Larry and Ken Hanson.
Dawn is survived by her stepfather, Ernest Matelski of Havre; sisters, Brenda Hanson of Portland, OR, and Kim Hanson and Lisa Matelski, both of Havre; niece, Kylie Barrows; nephews, Aaron Hanson, Jamie French, Jordan Normandy, and Jobe Barrows; and many, many wonderful friends.
