Obituary

David John Kleinsasser, 89, passed away due to natural causes at his residence on Monday, March 23, 2026.  Wake services will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, all at the East End Colony Church.  Burial will follow in the East End Colony Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

David was born on March 5, 1937, in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, to John and Rebecca (Entz) Kleinsasser.  He was raised in Magrath until 1947, when the family relocated to Rockport Colony in Penroy, Montana.  There he met Susie Waldner, and the couple married in 1961.  They had their first child at Rockport, and then moved to Hilldale Colony in 1963, where their remaining eight children were born.  In 1977, the family moved once again, to East End Colony, where they remained until their deaths.  Over the years, David worked many jobs for the colony, however his main positions were farm boss for many years at East End, and then he became the financial manager in 1990, remaining in that position until his retirement in 2013.

David was a soft-spoken and reserved man who enjoyed welding and tinkering.  He was very mechanically inclined, and always gave great advice.  He did love to sing and read, and always had a ready joke for those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susie Kleinsasser in 2024; parents, John and Rebecca Kleinsasser; brother, Peter Kleinsasser; and sister, Susie Waldner.

David is survived by his children, William (Rebecca) Kleinsasser of Ledger, Montana, Mike (Theresa) Kleinsasser of East End Colony, Justina (George) Waldner of Ledger, Matilda (Joe) Walder and Susanna Kleinsasser, all of East End, Ida (Abe) Wipf of Harlowton, Montana, Philip (Justina) Kleinsasser of Ledger, Reuben Kleinsasser of East End, and Lena (Michael) Wipf of Harlowton;  thirty-nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Mary) Kleinsasser, Sam (Margaret) Kleinsasser, Mike Kleinsasser, Mary (Joseph) Hofer, and Rebecca Waldner, all of Cut Bank, and Jonathan Kelinsasser and Jacob (Sarah) Kleinsasser, all of Rudyard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dad, we love you and you will be greatly missed.  May you rest in peace and be with your Heavenly Father throughout eternity.
