David E. Hazel, 72, passed away due to natural causes at Benefis Medical Center in Great Falls on Friday, March 17, 2017.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. in Highland Cemetery, and a celebration of David's life will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel, all on Thursday, March 23, 2017.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

David was born on January 19, 1945, in Helena.  He was adopted by Bunell and Esther (Tuttle) Hazel when he was 5 years old, and spent his time Montana Developmental Center in Boulder before moving to the Havre Day Activity Center in 1976, where he remained until his death.  David worked preparing the magazines for recycling, and loved to sweep the recycling center floor.  He loved his coffee and hot chocolate, and was a truly happy man, always smiling and almost never complaining.  He got along well with other clients, and paydays were his favorite days.

David was preceded in death by his parents Bunell and Esther Hazel.  He leaves behind his Havre Day Activity Center family.
