David was born March 17, 1945, to Richard and Helen Arlene (Daniel) Brown. He was the eldest of their three children. He graduated from Havre High School in 1963 and attended NMC for one year, enlisting in the United States Army in 1965, he was honorably discharged from active duty in 1967 and continued in the Army Reserves until 1971. In 1967 David met a Hi-Line girl, Julie Chvilicek, and the couple dated and were married, February 17, 1968, in Havre, at the St. Jude Catholic Church. David worked for Tiger Evans at the Service Station, a parts store and later drove truck for Pelke. He moved his family to Chester where they purchased the service station. They later sold it and moved the family to Fort Benton. The family was growing, they had three children, Daniele, William and Robert. He decided to move the family to Rexburg, Idaho to operate his trucking company hauling water for road construction in the oil fields. The family lived in Rexburg for 10 years returning to Havre in 1985 so David could take over the family farm south of Havre.

David was very active in the community, he was a member of the Eagles, Elks Lodge (serving in various positions) V.F.W., Masons and was a Shriner. He was very skilled in scrapping things together to "get by" kind of like MacGyver. He enjoyed hunting at the Missouri Breaks south of the Bear Paw Mountains and fishing with the guys up in Canada, always coming home with new jokes and good stories to tell of their trips. He and Julie eventually built their forever home out at the family farm. He enjoyed his huge garden and whenever people would stop by and visit. David was always up for a good time, a good joke or a story.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Brown, parents, Richard and Helen Arlene Brown, and his grandparents.

David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Julie Brown, Daughter, Daniele Brown, son, Robert (Tracie) Brown. 4 Granddaughters: Chante, Peyton, Rene & Lunden Brown. His brother Matthew (Jimmy-Lynn) Brown and sister Pam Brown. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
