Darren George
Healy
December 10, 1973 – October 17, 2020
Darren G. Healy, 46, passed away due to natural causes at Benefis Medical Center on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Pink Church Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Darren was born on December 10, 1973, in Fort Belknap to Verna First Chief and Robert D. "Ketsy" Healy. He was raised in Fort Belknap, attending school in Harlem and graduating from the Circle of Nations School in Wahpeton, ND. After high school, Darren returned home to Fort Belknap and began working as a ranch hand for his uncle, Jerome Bell, a job he held until his death. Over the years, Darren built a relationship with Lori Sears, and the couple had three daughters before going their separate ways. Darren adored his daughters and doted on them constantly.
He was an outgoing man who enjoyed time with his friends, riding horseback, and attending rodeos. He never met a stranger without turning them into a friend, and he enjoyed talking with just about anyone. Darren loved time with his family, especially his daughters, niece/daughter Ayonna First Chief, and his grandchildren. He would spend every minute with them that he could, teasing, joking, and laughing.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Healy and his sisters, Jenelle Healy and Joylynn First Chief.
Darren is survived by his daughters, Darrian Rae Healy and Taylor Alyssa Healy; two grandchildren, Hayden Crazy and Brickie Brockie; daughter/niece, Ayonna First Chief; parents, Verna First Chief and Robert "Ketsy" Healy; adopted father, Joe Cochran; sister, Roberta "Missy" (Ralph Talks Different) Healy; brothers, Leejay and Robert "Junior" (Leta) Healy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
