Johnson
November 14, 1962 – October 30, 2023
Darlene "Boe" (Fleury) Johnson, 60, started her spiritual journey on Monday, October 30, 2023, after a two-year battle with cholangiocarcinoma. Wake services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023,and will continue until her funeral service, which will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Boe was born on November 14, 1962, in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada, to Edward Fleury and Lena Small, the fourth of nine children. As a youth, she was raised in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia. During her adult years, her heart longed to see the majestic Rocky Mountains and of the natural beauty held there. Boe graduated from Stone Child College with an associate's degree in liberal arts, and from MSU-Northern with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. She married John Johnson on April 10, 1982, and the couple spent over 40 years together. They had one son, and were also blessed with five grandchildren.
Boe enjoyed reading aboriginal history, true crime, and celebrity magazines, traveling, and listening to music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Fleury and Lena Small; brothers, Ben Fleury, Monte Fleury (whom she dearly loved), and infant brother Noel Fleury; and sister, Marlene Fleury.
Boe is survived by her husband, John Johnson, of Rocky Boy; son, Christopher Johnson of Rocky Boy; five grandchildren, Daedrien Sunchild, Chrstopher Johnson, Jr., Kivahlin Johnson, Marlean Johnson, and De'Vonte Johnson; brothers, Ted Smallboy and Guide "Bobby" Fleury, both of Canada; sisters, Arlene (Fleury) Crane and Sarah Fleury, both of Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece, Juanita (Waylon Delorme) Fleury, of Canada.
Boe's family would like to thank the staff at the Hi-line Sletten Cancer Center, Bear Paw Hospice, the Chippewa Cree Tribe, and family members, Debbie and Selina Johnson and Juanita Fleury, for all of their love, support, and guidance.
