Daniel Phillip Flansburg, 41, formerly of Hays, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Havre due to a heart attack. Wake services will be held beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the Mission Recreational Center in Hays, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012. Burial will be in the Mission Cemetery in Hays. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Daniel was born on May 28, 1970, in Fort Belknap to Arden and Velma (Gardipee) Flansburg. Following his graduation from Hays-Lodgepole High School, he worked for a time before beginning his lifelong career as a firefighter in the wildlands. He began his life with Norma Jiron in 1992. Daniel enjoyed his work as a wildlands firefighter, and enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Arden and Velma Flansburg, and his nephew Samuel Flansburg. He is survived by his comm on-law wife Norma Jiron of Dunseith, ND; his sons Daniel H. Flansburg of Hays and Jesse Flansburg of Dunseith, ND; his daughters Payton and Calista Flansburg, both of Dunseith, ND; his two grandchildren; his brothers James Flansburg of Hays, Arden Flansburg of Havre, Lloyd Flansburg of Dunseith, ND, and Gary Flansburg of Hot Springs, MT; his sisters Deborah DeCelles of Dunseith, ND, Sheila Snell of Hays, Jennifer Madril of Chinook, Nedra Horn of Hays, Julie Lamebull of Harlem, Audrey Brown of Great Falls, and Laurie Frank of Sims, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
