Cora Lynn Sutherland, 55, passed away due to natural causes at Northern Montana Hospital on Thursday, February 29, 2024.  Wake services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, and will continue until her traditional funeral service, which will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, all at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Box Elder.  Burial will follow in the Sutherland Family Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Cora was born on December 31, 1968, in Inglewood, California, to Daniel and Marilyn (Morsette) Sutherland.  The family lived in California for a few years, returning to Rocky Boy, where Cora attended Box Elder schools.  After high school, Cora developed a relationship with Jonathan Gopher, and the couple had two sons.  They later separated, and she had a relationship with Harlan Hall, and they had two daughters.  Over the years, Cora maintained the house and cared for the children, and she also had a couple of jobs.  She worked as a secretary for the Chippewa Cree Tribe for a short time, and later took a job as a dispatcher for the Rocky Boy Police Department, working there for many years.

Cora loved her time with family, especially her children.  She enjoyed cleaning her house and watching her crime shows, The Voice, Grey's Anatomy, and 90-Day Fiance.  Cora adored her four-footed companion, Ladybug, and her grandson Corbyn.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dylan James Sutherland,  her mother, Marilyn Sutherland, and her two nieces, Sasha Nicole Montes and Ashley Sutherland.

Cora is survived by her children, Michael C. Gopher, and Cathy Lynn and Carlene Rose Sutherland, all of Rocky Boy; grandson, Corbyn Gopher; father, Daniel Sutherland of Rocky Boy; sisters, Anna and Danielle "Buffy" Sutherland, both of Rocky Boy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
