Obituary

Claudine Chiefstick "Blue Thunderbird Woman" passed away December 4, 2024. Wake services will begin on December 5, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until her funeral service on December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with Tribal Elders officiating. Burial will follow at Chiefstick Family Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Claudine was born in Fort Belknap MT, on January 15, 1964, to John Chiefstick, and Rema Lydia Lightfoot. Claudine had 9 children, whom she cared for and loved very much, as well as her grandchildren whom she loved very much and always made time for.

Claudine attended Welding school in Tulsa, OK when she was younger. For many years she was a cultural counselor working with many programs to help the youth. She was a well-traveled and cultured woman. She spent time traveling throughout Europe as a spiritual leader.  Claudine lived a very cultural life; she believed in the peyote and pipe way, as well as the church and Sundance ways. She was also a member of the Mosquito Grizzy Bear Head band. She loved to jingle dance at the pow wows, she loved cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren.  She was very creative, and was very skilled at beading. She was always happy and was always in a great mood and loved to do her hair and makeup and dress good and look nice. She loved to make bread over the fire outside. She loved a good argument; she would always find a good topic to argue on. She would always take care of her children and grandchildren any way that she could, and would always make sure they had what they needed.

Claudine was preceded in death by father, John Chiefstick; brother, John Chiefstick Jr; son, Eldon Derion; and nephew, Kyle Gray.

Claudine is survived by mother, Rema Lightfoot; children, Angel, Sky, Adrian, Jasper, SpiritWillow, Franklin, Santana, and Tashina; her many siblings; and many other family, friends and loved ones.
