In Loving Memory of Chad

Chad was born in Oneida, New York, on February 14, 1965. In 2004, he moved to Calgary, Alberta, where he spent many meaningful years before relocating to Havre, Montana, in 2024.

Chad was a talented, creative, and hardworking man who was happiest when he was working with his hands. He had a natural ability to see possibilities in almost anything and could turn an idea into something tangible. He enjoyed estate sales, wood carving, leatherwork, cooking, camping, restoring motorcycles, and taking on projects of all kinds. His garage was always filled with tools, parts, and projects in progress. If someone needed a tool, advice, or help fixing something, Chad was often the person they called.

He generously shared his time, knowledge, and skills with others. He helped neighbors repair bicycles, worked on vehicles, assisted with home renovations, and was always willing to lend a hand whenever he could. Helping others was simply part of who he was.

Chad had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping. During his years in Alberta, he attended many First Nations Pow Wows and cultural events throughout Alberta and British Columbia. He took great pride in helping paint a teepee and put it up at Pow Wows. One of his proudest memories was being interviewed by a reporter at one of these events, with his photograph and story later appearing in the newspaper.

His creativity could be seen in the many projects he took on. Among them, Chad was rebuilding a motorcycle he had acquired from a former Calgary Stampeders football player. He was also transforming an old wooden bathtub into a go-kart—just two examples of the imagination, determination, and sense of adventure that made him who he was.

Chad was an extremely strong man, both in spirit and character. He faced life's challenges with determination, courage, and resilience. He was known for his kindness, quick sense of humour, creativity, generosity, and willingness to help others. Above all, he had a deep love for his family and friends. The memories he created and the lives he touched will remain cherished and never be forgotten.

Chad leaves behind his beloved wife, Lynn of Calgary, Alberta; his sons, Drayden of Calgary, Alberta; Mathew of Phoenix, New York; Scott of New York Mills, New York; Nathan of Rome, New York; and Shawn of Almond, New York; and eight grandchildren his brothers, Tom (Carol) of Cleveland, New York, and Billy (Alice) of Victor, New York, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends in Calgary, Alberta, and Havre, Montana, who will miss him dearly.

Chad was predeceased by his father, Francis (1978); his mother, Margaret (1996); his brother, Peter (2021); and his sisters, Susan (2009) and Kathy (2024).
