Carolyn was born August 20, 1926, north of Havre on a farm, to Joseph and Anna Stremcha. She attended Belleview School and completed grades 1 through 8. She moved to Havre to complete her education at Havre High School and stayed with Fred and Agnus Vavra until her parents moved from the farm to Havre. She graduated high school in 1944. Carolyn met Robert A. Green and the two were married. She worked at F.A. Buttrey and the State of Montana Job Service until her retirement. She and Robert enjoyed time spent with family and friends. They hosted many birthday parties and barbeques in their neighborhood. The couple also enjoyed camping in and around Montana, first using a tent but eventually getting a fifth wheel and settling on a cabin in the Bear's Paw mountains. Carolyn enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She made several costumes for her daughter's dance recitals.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert; her parents, Joseph and Anna Stremcha; stepmother, Bessie; brothers, Fred and Ed Stremcha; stepbrother, Joe; and stepsister, Mildred.
She is survived by her children, Ann (Barry) Remus and William Green, all of Havre; grandchildren, Todd (Michelle) Remus and Kim (Travis) Wray, all of Williston, ND; and great-grandchildren, Connor and Makia Remus of Williston, ND. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Stremcha of Texas.
Donations can be made in Carolyn's honor to the Boys and Girls Club or the Sletten Cancer Center, both of Havre.
