Mimi was born on July 25, 1947, to Patrick and Julia (Wolf Walker) Stump in Rocky Boy, where she lived for all her childhood and was raised. When she got older, her dad, brothers, and sisters moved to Billings, where it became home for her. Her family and her also spent some time living in Reno, NV. She was the second oldest of her siblings. She loved being with her family, enjoyed her brothers and sisters' company. Carmella was a kind-hearted lady, very generous and caring to everyone. She was always there to help, she had the biggest heart full of love. We all enjoyed her company, she loved to laugh about the good memories that were made. When she was younger, her mother taught her how to bead, which she loved to do, and she was very good at. She showed us, the younger generation, our Chippewa-Cree culture ways, from what was wrong to right. She married Eldon Not Afraid, sr. from Crow Agency, MT, when she was in her twenties, later divorced. They had their first daughter, Julie Ann Not Afraid, who was her only child, she has three daughters of her own, Shiree, Daisy & Whitney. Later in life, Carmella took her oldest granddaughter Shiree as her own & raised her. She now has six great-grandchildren that she loves with all her heart and are very precious to her. She loved spending time with them, they kept her busy and she enjoyed every minute with them. Her great-grandchildren loved her very much, they always wanted to spend time with her.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Danny Three Irons) Not Afraid; granddaughters, Shiree (Tyrone) Martinez, Sr., Daisy (Francisco Maldonado) & Whitney Three Irons of Billings, MT; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Glen (Betty) Stump of Gallup, NM, and Father Pete Guthneck of Rocky Boy, MT; sisters, Kathleen (Ed Spotted Eagle) Goggles of Rocky Boy, MT, Valeria (McKinley) Iron, Jobyna Stump of Billings, MT, and Ethelene Stump of Lame Deer, MT; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
