Bruce Harold Sunchild, Jr., 48, passed away due to natural causes at his residence on Friday, November 14, 2025.  Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, and will continue until his traditional funeral service, which will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Kelly Eagleman officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Rocky Boy Cemetery.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Bruce was born on April 10, 1977, in Havre to Bruce and Valerie (Anderson) Sunchild, Sr.  He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there.  While in high school, Bruce began a lifelong hobby of carpentry.  He graduated from Rocky Boy High School in 1996, and began attending Stone Child College, from which he obtained his degree in building trades.  For the remainder of his life, Bruce worked driving heavy equipment and as a carpenter at several companies over the years, including Red Skins Construction and the Chippewa Cree Construction Company.  He was very proud of having worked on the Tiber Dam project.

Bruce was a generous, kind-hearted man who loved to tease his family and close friends, but he was rather quiet with those he didn't know well.  He enjoyed working out, fishing, and playing basketball.  He was a huge fan of Michael Jordan.  One of his favorite pastimes was carpentry, which made his working life much easier.  Bruce also enjoyed listening to music, pretty much any kind of music, although he did enjoy Tupac a lot, and he always had a dog as a pet.  He was raised in a very close family, becoming very close to his nieces and nephews, whom he treated as his children.  In recent years, he became very close to his cousin, Michael A. Sangrey, Jr.  They were nearly inseparable.  When his daughter, Brielle, was born, Bruce found a new reason to be proud.  He adored his children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Sunchild, Sr.;  sisters, Sonya and Irene Sunchild; nephew, Thompson St. Pierre; numerous aunts and uncles, paternal grandparents, Four Souls and Fannie Sunchild; and maternal grandparents, George and Queen Anderson.

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Brielle A. Sunchild of Havre; grand-dog, Tiny of Havre son, Tallis Caplette of Rocky Boy; mother, Valerie Sunchild of Rocky Boy; sister, Dawn (Juan) Sunchild-Gamble of Rocky Boy; brother Wilford "Huck" Sunchild of Rocky Boy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
