Bruce Edward McLain, 69, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at his home in Superior, Montana. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre with his burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his soul mate, Mary. Bruce was born on December 14, 1955, in Havre, Montana to William Francis and Thelma Marie (Cole) McLain. He was the seventh child out of 11. He was raised in Havre graduating from Havre High School in 1974. He met his soul mate, Mary Tavary while attending Northern Montana College. The couple married on September 6, 1980, in Cut Bank, Montana and made their home in Havre, where they raised their four sons: Adam, Andrew, Anthony and Alexander. Bruce worked as an Engineer on the Railroad, retiring after 37 years.

You would always see Bruce and Mary out walking together and helping others, shoveling snow or mowing lawns for their elderly friends or just people that needed a little extra help. They were devoted to their church, St. Jude Catholic Church and made the bread for the eucharist for many years.

Bruce enjoyed the outdoors, camping, kayaking and golfing. Family get togethers, his cigars, listening to music, telling a good joke and reading books.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary K. McLain in 2011, brother Michael McLain in 2024, sister Sharon McLain in 2020, nephew Mark McLain 2025, brother in-law Herb Hanson in 2019 and sisters-in-law Judith McLain 2023 and Luann McLain in 1997.

Bruce is survived by his four sons: Adam McLain, Andrew (Rachel) McLain, Anthony McLain and Alex McLain. 4 Grandchildren: Aiden, Levi, Killian and Declan. Brothers; John, Steve (Marilyn), Tracy (Stephanie) and Jay (Kathy) McLain, sisters, Peggy Hanson, Wanda (Bob) Letang, Janet (Tom) Lipp and Carol McLain, one sister-in-law, Paula McLain.
