Brittney Lea Ahenakew, "Sweetgrass Woman", 33, passed away at Northern Montana Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Brittney was born on June 2, 1989, in Havre to Bing Ahenakew, Jr. and Cecelia Parker. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school at Riverside Indian School in Andarko, OK. Following her school years, Brittney cared for her home and her children, and in 2014, she began a relationship with Sean Mosher and the couple remained together until her death.
Brittney was a loving young woman who had the warmest heart in the world and would do anything and everything for her loved ones. She enjoyed visiting friends and family and listening to music while cruising around.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bing and Amari Mae Ahenakew, Sr., and Robert and Agnes Parker; uncles, Lyle Ahenakew, Gordon "Dogman" Ahenakew, and Randell Parker; aunts, Rose Gebeau and Althea "Sissy" Ahenakew; niece, Amari Mae Ahenakew; special cousin, Lance Parker; and great-grandparents, Austin Norval and Victoria (Kennedy) Ahenakew, and William and Ida (Sangrey) Lamere.
Brittney is survived by her children, Adam Weiss and Robert Mosher; significant other, Sean Mosher; parents, Bing Ahenakew, Jr. and Cecelia Parker; sister, Ashley Parker; brothers, Doug Ahenakew, Bing Ahenakew, III, and Lyle Ahenakew, Sr.; adopted brother, Les Wright; grandmother, JoAnne Ahenakew; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
