Horne, Sr.
January 9, 1933 – April 26, 2024
Bobby Horne, Sr., 91, passed away due to natural causes at his residence on Friday, April 26, 2024, surrounded by family. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Havre Community Alliance Church with Pastor Munya Takawira officiating. Private family graveside services will take place at a later date. Bobby's family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen or the Havre Community Alliance Church. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Bobby was born on January 9, 1933, in Earlsboro, OK, to William and Florence (Langford) Horne. He was raised in Earlsboro, graduating from high school there. While in school, Bobby enlisted in the Army Reserves, and was honorably discharged a short time later. He immediately enlisted in the US Army and later transferred to the US Air Force, where he wound up stationed in Glasgow, Montana. There, Bobby met Patsy Robbins, and the couple married in 1958. He remained in the Air Force until his retirement in 1974, when the family couple moved from Virginia to Nashua, Montana. They then moved to Havre in 1977, where Bobby worked for Weaver Maxwell until they closed and then for Circle K. After managing the Circle K, he worked for Burlington Northern until his retirement in 1996.
When he was younger, Bobby enjoyed whittling. As he aged, he enjoyed writing poetry and was an avid reader and historian. He enjoyed a close relationship with his Lord, and served faithfully in the church as a Deacon. Bobby adored his wife, Patsy, and he dearly loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Baby Horne; grandson, Bobby Horne, III; brothers, Roy Lee, Jimmy Doyle, and Jerry Francisco Horne; and son-in-law, Roger Chinadle.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Patsy Horne, of Havre; children, Virginia (Alyn Reed) Bierig of Oklahoma, Nanette (Gale) Gabriel of Havre, Todd (Robin) Horne of North Carolina, Bobby Horne, Jr. of Havre, John (Leanna) Horne of Idaho, Anjanette (Mark) Kinna of Havre, and Rebecca Chinadle of Idaho; twenty-three grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Joe Horne of Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
