Blanche was born May 23, 1928 in Valdese, NC, to Harley and Caldonia (Smart) Lowman. She was raised in Valdese and graduated from high school there. She met Robert Miller while working at a naval base in Virginia and they were married on August 10, 1946. They later moved to Macedonia, IA where they had one child (Kirt Miller). Along with Bob's parents, they relocated to Havre in 1953, where they had a second child (Kathy Miller). Blanche cared for their home and children, and worked at the Sacred Heart Hospital for and few years.
Blanche was a unique individual who was very outspoken and independent. She had a quick wit and an answer for every question. She loved the company of others and was always ready to help people in need, volunteering much of her time at the hospital helping others. Blanche was full of life and had a million stories to tell. She loved to laugh and was a standout in any crowd. She had many hobbies: studying natural medicine and remedies, reading about classical civilizations, video gaming, collecting VHS tapes (over 400), flower gardening, and she loved to travel. She was always ready to make a daytrip and see the many Montana Historical sites. She relished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Blanche was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Bob, and her parents Harley and Caldonia Lowman. She is survived by her children, Kathy Guptill of Tacoma, WA, and Kirt (Fran) Miller of Havre; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Lou Abee of Vale, North Carolina.
