Obituary

Beverley Prim, 93, beloved mother of 6 children, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Northern Montana Hospital. She was surrounded by loved ones.

Beverley Elaine Prim (Shinn) was born December 27, 1931 in Livingston, MT, to Richard C. and Ella (Alma) Shinn.  Up until the very end, Bev maintained her kindness, grace, compassion and love of family and friends.  She graduated from Park Senior High school in Livingston and worked briefly in Yellowstone National Park. Beverley married Bob Prim and they joyfully raised their 6 children in Livingston Montana, moving to Havre in 1971 with Bob's BNSF career, they flourished there.

Bev was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed knitting and calligraphy, however, reading was her passion, and we believe that was her secret to maintaining sanity raising 6 children to adulthood and beyond. Reading and libraries were the world to her. Later in life, she worked as a lunch lady at St. Jude's School. She so enjoyed cooking for the kids and many would remember the once a month birthday table in the lunchroom. She was very involved at St. Jude's Thaddeus Church in the PCCW and Catholic Daughters. She served as an election judge, scout leader, and served on the Havre Hill County Library board. Bev was a member of the local Friends of the Library and worked tirelessly for the annual library book sale and pie social.

Beverley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert (Bob) Prim; parents, Richard and Alma Shinn;  daughter, Lisbeth (Lisa) Davis; brothers, Donald Shinn, Richard (Dick) Shinn and John (Jack Shinn), Granddaughters, Jodi Pierce and Janet Pierce Ray; Grandsons, Tiger (David) Munson and Jason Pierce; Great Granddaughter, Emily Rice

She is survived by Daughters Caren Pierce, Sheila (Michael) Daugherty, Pamela (Cal) Long, Mary (Rich) Shearer; Son, Eric Prim; Son-in-law, Lenny Clyde; 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren
