Betty Ann Heninger, 96, passed away due to natural causes at her residence on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemtery. Betty's family has suggested that memorial donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Catholic School or a charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Betty was born on May 10, 1927, in Assumption, IL, to Leo and Sylvia (Logsdon) Swiney. She was raised and attended school in Taylorville, graduating from Taylorville High School in 1945. On April 20, 1947, Betty married George Heninger, and the couple made their home in Taylorville, where they raised their four children. In 1968, they relocated to Havre, MT, where they remained. In addition to caring for her home and four children, Betty also provided daycare services for many children, and to this day they still refer to her as "Grandma Betty". George passed away in 1980.
Betty was a kind, loving mother who kept an immaculate house, and enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and reading. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Heninger; parents, Leo and Sylvia Swiney; and brothers, Marion, Duane, and Donald "Pete" Swiney.
Betty is survived by her children, Linda Ferguson of Havre, Carol (Robert) Stocking of Miles City, Bill Heninger of Rathdrum, ID, and Tom Heninger of Havre; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law and good friend, Jill (Lyle) Miller of Havre; sisters Kathy (Robert) Ricci, Janet (Bob) Stephens, Helen (Keith) Bricker, and Paul (Andi) Swiney, all of Taylorville, IL, and Leo (Kay) Swiney of Owaneco, IL; close friend, Cindy Kaleva; faithful companion, Skippy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
