Obituary

Long-time Simpson and Havre resident Betty Flechsig passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Friday, November 15, 2024.  Betty was the wife of Walt Flechsig and mother of Janice (Rolland) Reinhart of Peoria, Illinois, and Linda Flechsig of Billings.

Betty was born on April 13, 1929, and attended Havre schools and went to Montana State College for a year.  On October 18, 1950, she and Walt married and settled on the family farm, where they raised their two daughters.

Betty was the St. Paul Lutheran Church organist for 75 years, and she instilled her love of music in her piano students in the neighborhood.  After retiring from the farm, she enjoyed helping at various church functions and at the library in town.

Betty is survived by her husband, Walt, of 74 years; her daughters and son-in-law; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Reverend Dane Breitung officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to the Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch, Easter Seals, or your favorite charity.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
