Bernadette (Gardipee) Johnson, 42, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, in Helena.  Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Burial will take place in the FourSouls Family Cemetery following his funeral.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Please visit Bernadette's online memorial page to send a card or leave a message of condolence for her family at www.hollandbonine.com.

Bernadette was born March 13, 1982, in Helena, Montana, to Barbara Culler and Michael Gardipee Sr.  She left home at a young age and attended job corps in Salt Lake City, Utah. After the job corps, she traveled to work in California, Indiana, Mississippi, and Georgia.

She had her son, D'Angelo, in Mississippi, and then returned home to Helena, Montana, to raise him. She worked as a certified nurse's assistant for many years and had three other children, Amani, Javian, and Tameka.

Bernadette enjoyed her family; she would love to sit at the table and talk to her family about their younger days and reminisce about their experiences. She enjoyed listening to music and would often take drives in the car so she could listen to her music alone. She cooked and did some baking and loved to watch her crime TV shows. She was a kind compassionate person who would help anyone in need. Going above and beyond for others. She raised her sister's daughters, Dakota and Elysia, and other children who needed a safe place to stay were always welcome in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her 9-month-old daughter Tameka.

Bernadette is survived by her children, D'Angelo Gardipee, Amani Morris, and Javian Smith; her sister, Daichi Gardipee; and brothers, Michael Gardipee Jr., Tyrel Gardipee, Corey Gardipee, and Leslie Wright.
