Anthony D. Woods, Sr., 70, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Peace Hospice of natural causes. Tony was born on October 20, 1944, in Winnebago, Nebraska, to Joe Baker and Marie Woods. He was raised in Macy by his maternal grandparents, and attended Flandreau Indian School until his graduation in 1962. Tony married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Chandler, in 1963, in Havre, and the couple made their home in Rocky Boy and Havre, raising their five biological children there. The couple adopted two other children, whom they loved and raised as their own. Tony worked as a printer in Havre for 13 years, before the family relocated to Missoula in 1986, where he continued his printing work for another 12 years. The couple settled in Great Falls with their two youngest in 1997, where Tony worked as a truck driver, retiring in 2013. Tony enjoyed woodworking and beading. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Baker and Marie Woods, and his daughter Shirlin Woods. Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Shirley Woods, of Great Falls; his son(s) Anthony "Tony" (Michelle) Woods of Rocky Boy, Brian M. Woods of Denver, CO, Troy Woods of Polson, Shawn (Marsha) Woods of Denver, CO, and Chandler (Ashley) Woods of Great Falls; his daughter Chandris Woods of Great Falls; his 15 grandchildren; his 3 great-grandchildren; his sister Carol Woods of Benton Harbor, MI; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
