Obituary

Anna (Parker) Crain was born December 26th, 1932 to Elizabeth Nomee Parker and John Parker, Sr. in Rocky Boy Agency. She passed away due to natural causes June 23rd, 2026 surrounded by her family. She attended Flandreau Indian School and later joined the Navy in 1951. She met and married Allan Crain while he was a teacher at Parker School in Rocky Boy. Together they traveled across the United States while Allan continued working as a teacher and administrator for numerous schools.

She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, keeping her home filled with her children and grandchildren over the years. A skilled seamstress, painter, upholsterer, and craftswoman, Anna passed on her artistic skills to her children and grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Allan Crain; her son, Matt Crain; parents, Elizabeth and John Parker, Sr; sisters, Florence Parker, Cecelia Parker, Mary Ann Parker, Lucy Parker, and Betty Parker; and brothers, John Parker, Jr., Raymond Parker, Sr., Martin Parker, Robert Parker, Alfred Parker, and William Parker.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Mike LameBull) Crain and Kim Crain Russette; brother, Paul Parker; grandchildren, Chase Crain, Jason Sutherland, Carlos Sutherland, Mia (Jonathan) Nepoose, Anthony (KaChina) Russette, Owen (Shayna Jordan) Russette, Rebeka (John Murie) Russette, and Kristie (Craig) Russette-Ollinger; fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at the Crain residence in Parker Canyon, Rocky Boy on Wednesday, June 24th at 11:00am with a luncheon to follow.
