Anna Marie Berg

Anna Marie (Pruys) Berg, a lifelong resident of the Hi-Line whose generosity, and creative hands touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully at her home in Havre on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the age of 92.

A funeral mass in her honor will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Anna will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Raymond, at the Cottonwood Cemetery north of Havre. Memorial contributions in Anna’s honor may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or to a memorial of the donor’s preference. Anna’s story began on July 19, 1934, in Havre, born to Herman and Christine (Roth) Pruys. Raised on the family farm north of town, she grew up with a deep connection to the land and the community. After graduating from Havre High School, Anna brought her sharp mind to the local Farm Bureau office. There, she kept the books and managed the accounting for countless local farmers, earning a reputation for her meticulous care and dedication.

Life changed beautifully when she met a handsome railroad man named Raymond Charles Berg. The two were married on October 19, 1963, at St. Jude Catholic Church, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned decades. Anna and Ray were the definition of a team, and their door was always open. They were the first to show up whenever family or friends needed. Whether it was driving trucks during a hectic harvest, cooking up a massive meal to feed a hungry crew, or offering a quiet word of support, Anna lent her hands and her heart without hesitation.

They also knew how to cut loose and enjoy life. Anna and Ray loved to dance, spending many happy evenings spinning around the floor at the Elks Club. They loaded up their gear for camping trips, traveled across the United States to explore new horizons, and always made sure to drop in on family along the way.

Anna’s creativity was woven into everything she did. She was an exceptionally talented crafter, known for her beautiful crochet and intricate needlepoint. She poured love into every stitch, decorating her home with her creations and gifting them to family and friends who still treasure them today. After Ray retired, the couple found the perfect balance in life—chasing the sunshine down to Yuma, Arizona for the winter months, and returning home to their beloved Havre community for the summers. Through it all, Anna’s faith remained a cornerstone of her life as a dedicated member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Raymond; her parents; her siblings, Angeline Fitz, Joseph Pruys, Dorothy Sieversen, and Herman “Jr” Pruys; her brother-in-law, Mike Fitz and her sister-in-law, Joyce Pruys.

Anna’s bright spirit lives on in her numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of cherished friends who will miss her quick smile, her generous heart, and the warmth she brought into every room.
