Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 98.  He lost his will to go on after losing his wife of 70 years 2 months ago.

Andrew was an avid church member all his life and would often seek comfort in God's scriptures throughout his life.

Andrew was born in 1926 at the Rockport Colon in South Dakota.  He later moved to Montana where he was a skilled cobbler and family man, helping his sons diligently at their work in the colony and skillfully teaching the younger generation to be resourceful and making work a joy within his presence.

Andrew is survived by his three sons, Ed (Elsie), Joe (Susie), and Tim (Katie) all of Hidden Valley Colony; four daughters, Mary (Paul) of Hidden Valley, Annie (Joe) and Mathilda (Jonathon), all of Hussar, Alberta, Canada, and Helen (Tim) of Milford; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Margaret) of Riverview and Jake (Annie) of Miller; sisters, Mary of Miller and Elizabeth (Isaac) of Birch Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria; son, Ed; son-in-law, Paul; parents, Joseph and Anna Wurtz; brother, Joe; and sister, Annie.

Andrew will be greatly missed by all, especially his daughter, Mary, who was his caretaker.

Andrew's wake will begin on Thursday, June 19, 2025, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, all at the Hidden Valley Colony Church.  Burial will follow in the Hidden Valley Colony Cemetery next to his beloved wife Maria.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
