Alvin G. Johnson, E-kah Sah-ni "Red Sand", 70, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, of natural causes in Bismark, ND. Alvin was born on August 19, 1944, in the Parker School area of Rocky Boy to John and Marion (Small) Johnson, and was raised on Rocky Boy. He married Mary Margaret Mitchell, and Alvin was blessed with five children. The couple later divorced, but Alvin remained close to his girls. He worked many jobs over the years, as an auto mechanic in the early 70's at Hinebaugh Breaks & Angstman Motors. He then farmed with Butler Farms in Big Sandy, worked for Olson Upholstery, for Hobbema Glass in Canada, and for Willard Crier proprietor, with his most recent being a cattle rancher. He enjoyed his time in the outdoors, and loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents John & Marion (Small) Johnson; his daughter Cecelia Ann Johnson; his grandson Kyle Martin Standing Rock; and his brother Enos Ralph Johnson, Sr. He is survived by his significant other Brenda Cree; his daughters Luanne (Jerry) Four Colors, Althea Johnson, Linell ChiefSky, & Melissa (Wilbur) Nagel; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his brothers Dale Johnson, Sr. and John L. (Darlene) Johnson; his sisters Debbie (Gilbert) Sinclair, Selina Johnson, and Lita Standing Chief; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended families and friends, including the Smalls of Rocky Boy, the Johnsons of MN, and the Smallboys, Criers, and Dennehys, all of Canada. Alvin's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Sanford Hospital staff in Bismark and St. Patrick's Hospital staff in Missoula, to the Chippewa Cree Tribe, to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home, to our Firekeepers, and to the traditional helpers!
