Alois "Louis" Landinger, 89, passed away at his residence due to natural causes on June 14, 2022.  Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Louis' life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Pep's Pizza in Big Sandy.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Louis was born on June 4, 1933, in Landing, Germany, to Josef and Anna (Hinschberger) Landinger.  When he was 17, Louis and several of his siblings moved to the United States, initially settling down in Arlington Heights, IL, where Louis worked as a lithographer.  Louis entered the US Navy early in 1956, serving until his honorable discharge late in 1957.  In 2012, he moved to Big Sandy to be near his brother Joe.

Louis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.  He also was a photographer on the side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Josef and Anna Landinger.

Louis is survived by his siblings, Barbara Wimmer of Landing, Germany, Theresa Pittenger of Hickory, NC, Hildegard "Linda" Viktora of Charlotte, NC, Joe Landinger of Big Sandy, Alfons Landinger of Athens, AL, and Maria Burke of Atlanta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
