Obituary

Alice Jean Russette, 78, of Rocky Boy passed away at the Rocky Boy Clinic on Thursday, July 19, 2012, of natural causes. A wake will be held starting Friday afternoon, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy, with burial in the Russette Family Cemetery on Duck Creek. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Alice was born on April 10, 1934, to Gilbert and Elizabeth (Wolfwalker) Meyers in Rocky Boy where she was raised. She married Theodore Russette, Jr. in 1951, and couple made their home in Rocky Boy, raising their 17 children there. Alice was a homemaker for much of her life, and she enjoyed berry picking, attending ceremonies, playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She served as a member of the Rocky Boy School Board with Dorthy Small, Robert Favel, Robert Corcoran, Cecelia Corcoran, and Bert Corcoran; she worked hard lobbying to secure the first high school in Rocky Boy; she served on the Election Board; and served numerous years on the Stone Child College School Board. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers; 8 sisters; and three grandchildren Meana, BJ, and Baby Rose. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Theodore Russette, Jr.,of Rocky Boy; her daughters Denise Crow, Juanita (Roger) DeCora, Mona (Steve) Galbawy, Ursula (Maynard) Russette, Dodie (Mike) Houle, Tashina Russette, and Sasha Russette, all of Rocky Boy; her sons Theodore B (Carol) Russette III, Gilbert Russette, Spencer Russette, Peter Houle, David (Mary ) Russette, Stacey Small, John Chance Houle, Troy DeCora, Melvin Writing Bird, and Kelly Eagleman, all of Rocky Boy; her 31 grandchildren; her 47 great-grandchildren; her 6 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters Florence Sunchild, Patsey Gopher, Louise Stump, Helen Good Runner, Judy Houle, Ruby Small, Theresa Tendoy, Jackie Meyers Swan, Linda Luna, Ella Morales, and Pearl Whitford, all of Rocky Boy; her brothers John G Meyers, John Stump, Kenny Writing Bird, John Demontiney, Kenny Gopher, Joe Iron Man Sr., and John Demontiney, all of Rocky Boy; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
