Alice "Sister" Mitchell-Conklin, 83, passed away on October 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. A Rosary will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., with a Service on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy.; burial to follow at the Rocky Boy Veterans Cemetery. Alice was born on August 16, 1934 in Parker Canyon to Paul and Leona (Nomee) Mitchell. Alice grew up in the Rocky Boy area first attending Parker School and then Agency School; graduating from Flandreau Indian School in 1942. From 1952-1953 she served during the Korean War in the Air Force. In 1953 Alice Mitchell married Norman Jilot in California and the couple had 5 children. The family later returned to Rocky Boy in the late 1980's.

Over the years Alice worked at Lange Skiboot Co., IHS, the Denver Native American Center, BIA and Rocky Boy Schools. She enjoyed collecting memorabilia, and spending time with friends and family. She was dedicated to being a mother and grandmother, always putting family first.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Leona Mitchell; brothers, John L. Mitchell, Wallace Mitchell and Robert Mitchell; sister, Mary M. (Mitchell) Johnson; adopted brothers, Alfred Nault and Lawrence Turner; and grandson, Cody Four Colors.

She is survived by her sons, Russell (Collette) Jilot of Auburn, CA and Paul Jilot; daughters, Christine Jilot, Susie (Leon) Jilot and Tracey Jilot; brother, Russell Mitchell; sister Elsie Mitchell, all of Rocky Boy; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
