Alex was born on January 4, 1953, in Fort Belknap to Alexander "Hector" and Lorraine (Briere) St. Marks. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending Rocky Boy Elementary and graduating from Box Elder High School in 1971. He went on to attend cosmetology school in Billings, and he became a licensed cosmetologist not long after. In 1984, Alex moved to Albuquerque, NM, and worked there for eight years before returning home. After his return to Rocky Boy, Alex worked at the Rocky Boy Schools as a teacher's aide for several years, and at the Rocky Boy Health Center in Housekeeping for quite a few years.
He was a quiet, easy-going man, who enjoyed cutting hair, cleaning and cooking. He was a people person, who loved to be with others, joking around or dancing, or even reminiscing about "the good old days". Spending time with his family and friends was the highlight of his days.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Lorraine St. Marks; brothers Kenny, Sammy, Robert, Louis, and Dennis St. Marks; and his sister Nina St. Marks.
He is survived by his daughter Janelle St. Marks of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren; sisters Patty St. Marks of Seattle, WA, and Anna Big Bow of Rocky Boy; brothers Billy, Richard, and Patrick St. Marks of Rocky Boy; aunt Cecelia Wells of Rocky Boy; uncle Mickey Briere of Rocky Boy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
