Morsette, Sr.
September 7, 1950 – February 29, 2024
Alan J. Morsette, Sr., 73, passed away due to natural causes on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California. Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, and will continue until his traditional funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, all at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Kelly Eagleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Morsette Family Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Alan was born on September 7, 1950, in Fort Belknap, MT, to Clarence and Irene (Sangrey) Morsette. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school in Box Elder and Flandreau Indian Boarding School in Flandreau, SD. Alan obtained his GED, and then attended Modern Business College in Missoula, MT, majoring in accounting. He also attended ABC Technical College in Tuscon, AZ, where he obtained his Associate's Degree in automotive mechanics. Alan was married once and had three long-term relationships, resulting in the birth of seven children. Over the years, he was employed as a mechanic, but also held various other jobs.
Alan enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family. He liked football, especially his beloved Raiders, fishing, collecting coins, and family dinners.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Irene Morsette; siblings, Marilyn Morsette, Carl Morsette, and infant brother, Kenneth Morsette; and numerous extended family.
Alan is survived by his children, Alan Jr., Kenneth, Leyah, Marcus, Tanessa, and Christian, and Gerold Parker; long-time companion, Yvette Kwake; grandchildren, Aubrianna and Ihanbda Morsette, Jordan Williams, Winter, Nick, Jenna, and Jordan Parker, Arianna Fajardo, and Landon and Ashton Morsette; sisters, Clarice Morsette, Marcia McDowell, and Lizabeth Morsette; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
